Why You May Need Motorized Shades

Motorized shades offer automation and convenience, which are among the qualities that make them some of the best window shades in Sparks, NV. They also help keep your home secure while you are away, and they are safer around children and pets because there are no cords to open or close them.

How Motorized Shades Work

These shades use a motorised system that turns the roller the fabric is attached to. The motors are quiet and do not draw much power. There are wired versions that connect to mains supply and wireless versions that run on batteries. They can be operated from a handheld remote, and in most cases from an app on your phone.

Motorized Shades Offer Convenience

To operate them you press a button or tap your phone. You can also schedule them, so they open every morning without you setting an alarm and close in the evening for privacy. You no longer have to walk into every room, and you do not have to remember to close anything.

Enhance the Energy Efficiency of Your Home

Scheduling shades to lower during the hottest part of a summer afternoon stops your home absorbing that heat, which means your air conditioner works less hard. In winter you can do the reverse and let the low sun in. None of that requires you to be home.

They Provide Security When You Travel

While travelling, you can schedule shades to open and close at set times so the house keeps a lived-in look. The app also lets you check whether they are currently open or closed.

Smart Home Compatibility

When you are choosing a motorised system, ask which integrations apply to the specific product and configuration you are considering. Compatibility varies by system, and it is worth confirming before you order rather than after.

How Motorized Shades Are Installed

In most cases the retailer installs them for you. You should not need to climb a ladder or work out the pairing yourself.
