Window Covering Repair in Reno, Sparks and Truckee
Blinds and shades rarely fail all at once. A lift cord frays, a slat cracks, a motorised shade stops responding, a headrail works loose at one end. Most of it is repairable, and replacing the whole treatment is rarely the first answer. DLUX services and repairs Hunter Douglas products regardless of where they were originally purchased, including products we did not install.
What we repair
Broken, frayed or seized lift cords, and cordless mechanisms that no longer hold position. Cracked, bent or misaligned slats and vanes. Shades that hang crooked or drift down on their own. Headrails and brackets that have worked loose or pulled away from the frame. Motorised shades that have stopped responding, need re-pairing to a remote or hub, or have a flat battery. Shutter hinges, louvre tension and tilt rods. Wand and chain mechanisms on vertical blinds.
When repair makes sense, and when it doesn't
A repair is usually the right call when the fabric or louvres are still sound and the problem is mechanical. Cords, clutches, brackets, motors and tilt mechanisms are all serviceable parts. Replacement tends to make more sense when the fabric has faded unevenly across a run of windows, when a discontinued product can no longer be matched, or when the treatment was never the right fit for the window in the first place. We will tell you which situation you are in before any work starts, even when the answer is that a repair is not worth it.
Motorised and PowerView shades
Motorised shades fail differently from manual ones. A shade that has stopped responding is more often a flat battery, a lost pairing or a hub that has dropped off the network than a failed motor. Our installers are Hunter Douglas PowerView Pro certified, so diagnosis usually starts with the things that cost nothing to fix. If a motor or control unit does need replacing, we will tell you the part and the timeline before you commit.
How to book a repair
Call the showroom nearest you and describe what the product is doing rather than what you think is wrong. Where you can, send a photo of the window and a close-up of the mechanism or headrail. That often lets us identify the part before anyone travels. Many repairs are completed in a single visit. If a part has to be ordered, we will tell you what it is and how long it will take before work begins. If your product is still covered by its Hunter Douglas warranty, we will tell you that too.
